Newport Solar contributed to the solar design of a net zero home featured in The New York Times, where architecture, performance, and energy independence were considered together from the start.

The home was featured on June 23, 2025, highlighting a thoughtfully designed residence in rural Rhode Island by the internationally acclaimed architecture firm WORKac, built to Passive House standards with support from ZeroEnergy Design.

The result is a home where architectural vision, environmental performance, and off grid resilience are fully integrated, with a rooftop solar system designed and installed by Newport Solar. The system required coordination with the broader project team to ensure both performance and aesthetic alignment.

Projects like this reflect the type of work we are brought into, where solar must align with architectural intent, not compete with it. From historic homes in Providence to coastal retreats and wooded escapes, our team brings technical precision, design sensitivity, and long term performance to every installation. This is solar done with purpose, supporting homes that are not only efficient, but thoughtfully built to last.
